Hand Pick System – A Fresh Idea by Kissan Taza Fal Sabji House in Jaipur

When we started Kissan Taza Fal Sabji House in Jaipur back in 1997, our main dream was very simple – to give customers the best quality fruits and vegetables at fair prices. In the year 2000, we introduced something new in Jaipur that changed the way people buy vegetables and fruits. This was called the Hand Pick System.

At that time, most shopkeepers in Jaipur followed the same old method. Customers were not allowed to choose vegetables or fruits by themselves. If a customer said, “Bhaiya, give me 1 kg onion,” the shopkeeper would pick up onions from his basket and give them. It didn’t matter if the onions were small, big, fresh, or not so fresh – the customer had no choice. If someone wanted only big onions or the best quality tomatoes, they had to depend on the shopkeeper’s choice. Sometimes shopkeepers even charged extra for selecting big-sized vegetables.

We saw this problem very closely and thought – why can’t customers pick their own vegetables and fruits just like they pick clothes in a shop? After all, food is the most important thing for any family, and everyone deserves the right to choose what they want. That is when we started the Hand Pick System for the first time in Jaipur.

What is the Hand Pick System?

The Hand Pick System means that customers can pick their own vegetables and fruits directly from the baskets and shelves. For example:

  • If someone needs 1 kg onions, they can choose only big onions or medium ones – as per their need.
  • If a person wants ripe red tomatoes for making curry, they can pick those.
  • If someone wants slightly raw tomatoes for salad, they can pick that too.
  • The customer does not have to pay extra for selecting good quality items.

This simple idea gave complete freedom and satisfaction to customers. They felt more confident because they knew exactly what they were buying.

Why Did Customers Love This System?

When we introduced this system in 2000, people were surprised at first because no shop in Jaipur was giving this facility. Slowly, more and more people started coming to our shop because of the trust and comfort they felt.

Some reasons why customers loved the hand pick system:

  1. Freedom of Choice – They could pick whatever they wanted without depending on the shopkeeper.
  2. No Extra Charges – Customers were happy that we didn’t charge extra for big-size vegetables or fruits.
  3. Better Quality – Customers could check the items themselves, touch and see the freshness, and then buy.
  4. Trust and Transparency – Customers felt we were fair because we allowed them to select, unlike other shops.
  5. Satisfaction – When people picked their own items, they felt happy and confident that they got the best for their family.

How the Hand Pick System Changed Jaipur’s Market

Before we introduced this system, in almost every part of Jaipur – Malviya Nagar, Vaishali Nagar, Mansarovar, Johri Bazar, or Chandpole – customers had no choice but to accept whatever the shopkeeper gave. Sometimes shopkeepers mixed good and average quality items, and customers had to compromise.

But when we started the hand pick system at Kissan Taza Fal Sabji House, the market slowly began to change. People started asking other shopkeepers, “Why don’t you allow us to pick items ourselves like Kissan Taza Fal Sabji House does?”

Within a few years, this system became popular across Jaipur. Many shops and even supermarkets followed the same method because customers demanded it. We feel proud that we were the first to bring this customer-friendly idea to Jaipur.

How This System Built Trust in Customers’ Hearts

Trust is the most important thing in any business. When we started giving freedom to choose, customers realized that we cared for them. They felt confident that they were buying only the best because they selected with their own hands.

Some families even shared their experiences with us:

  • A mother said she felt happy because now she could choose only the freshest vegetables for her children.
  • A young man told us that he liked picking the fruits himself because he could take some ripe ones for eating today and some raw ones for keeping later.
  • A grandmother shared that earlier she felt cheated by shopkeepers, but now she felt respected because she could decide what to buy.

These small stories gave us more strength to continue this system.

Why Hand Pick System Still Matters Today

Even though today online delivery and modern supermarkets are growing, the hand pick system still matters. Many people love to personally check and select fruits and vegetables for their family. It gives them a sense of trust and freshness that no online order can match.

At Kissan Taza Fal Sabji House, we continue this tradition proudly. Whether it is local vegetables like peas, cauliflower, or chilies from Chomu farmers, or imported fruits like kiwi and dragon fruit – our customers can hand pick everything.

Our Promise with Hand Pick System

From the year 2000 till today, our promise has remained the same:

  • Customers have full freedom to select their vegetables and fruits.
  • No extra charges for size or quality.
  • If by chance any item turns out bad, we replace it immediately.
  • Freshness and honesty are always guaranteed.
